I AM BIHAR

I recived this message in my Orkut Scrapbook. It is really very well written & true. I hope many people may get little knowledge about Bihar who continuously mocking on biharies And made this a slang. Every where there is problems. We cannot prosper alone. We have to develop and help each other in order to take our nation forward. Now, Bihar is speaking for itself in pain.
I added one more thing
into it which was missing that the Tenth Guru of sikh Sri Guru Gobind Singh jee was born in Patna Bihar in India in 1666. His establishment of the Khalsa is considered as one of the most important events in the history of Sikhism.

Here is the Message.

I AM BIHAR
I am the history of India
I gave India its first president
I gave the world its first Republic
I nourished Buddha to enlightenment
I gave world its best ancient university
Mahavir came out of my womb to found Jainism
My son Valmiki wrote Ramayan, the greatest Epic
I gave birth to Aryabhatt, the great ancient mathematician
My son Vatsayana wrote Kamasutra, the treatise of love
I gave Ashoka Chakra that adorns India's national flag
Rishi Shushrut, the father of surgery, lived on my soil
My son Guru Gobind was the tenth guru of sikh
My son Chanakya was the father of Economics
My son Ashoka was the greatest ruler of India
My son Dinkar is the national poet of India
I gave the world its first University
I am the land of festivals
I am brotherhood
I am the past
I am the future
I am BIHAR

I liked this not because to let any other down. I just want to introduce some positive & rich side of bihar. Nationality is above all religion, caste, language etc. Nationality only have one religion, caste and language called HINDUSTANI i.e INDIAN. So, please stay united and move together for making India Better Place to live.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!

And remember our great martyr who lost there life for the country we call BHARAT.

Calculating GPA from Indian Percentage System

I am looking forward to find GPA for applying to foreign universities. So, Need to calculate GPA from my percentage. I tried to find the appropriate formula to calculate GPA for Indian education system. But I found some answer but was unsatisfactory. Now, I found the solution for it and would like to share who are looking for the solutions like me. Its a simple GPA calculation formula which may be helpful to you.
I have calculated GPA for my final year engineering score.

  • I got 910/1500 in Final year. Calculating GPA for 4 point grading system.
  • GOT: The List of 4 toppers of my class (From college admin. office or department)
1. 1112/1500
2. 1111/1500
3. 1102/1500
4. 1095/1500

  • Calculate the Average of toppers : (1112+1111+1102+1095) / 4 = 1105
  • GPA = [(My score) / (Avg. of toppers) ] * ( Grading System You Need eg. 4 pointer, 10 Pointer etc.) = [910/1105] * 4 = 3.29
  • GPA for 4 pointer system is 3.29
  • If you need to calculate 10 pointer GPA system then multiply with 10. GPA = [910/1105] * 10 = 8.24
So, My GPA for Final year is 3.29/4.

Likewise, you can calculate for your first, second & third year and get the average. That will be the avg. GPA of your Degree or your major of studies.

All the best for the future ahead.

Proud to be......... of What???

We are very much accustomed to be Proud of every thing that looks good. No, matter what is its reality. We are very Proud to be UN-innovative IT power of India. We are Proud to be cheap labor of IT industry. We are Proud to be best IT service sector (Slang-Mechanic) of the world. AND most of all Proud to be still dependent on US for every thing ( software, Hardware, technology & list will go on...........!!!). “Very Proudly speaks, US market is slowdown... So, there is tight situation Indian IT market or Indian IT market is going through a low phase & rough phase. But we will definitely overcome of this situation as US recession will not stay for so long.” These expert comments are given by top IT specialist, & analysts with Pride.... many discussions done and still going on that how to keep our Pride. We are Proud to see that big players of IT mechanic sector like INFOSYS, Wipro & many more are having extraordinary & mind blowing turnovers of more than 10 thousand crores of rupees. But still these big giants Proudly shy away from investing few drops from their huge sea of capital into Research & development (R&D). I agree, every body is here to make money. But still why they can't t invest a single penny to develop there own product and become independent? It may be a time taking process and end result will be always be profitable. But who cares for the future. Money hai toh, Honey hai! We are Proud to be IT Service mechanic of the World. No matter, we don't have any Big product based companies like Microsoft, Google & Apple. But still we are Proud of using there product.
We Proudly say that we are ahead of China in IT Mechanic sector (the only field which we can proudly say we are ahead of them) but, but........
I wonder, the day China Learns English.... WHAT will be the scenario............................
Proudly think about this, Mr/Ms. Analysts of Information Technology of India!!!!!
BUT Whatever,
PROUD TO BE INDIAN!!!

Kernel Programming Class

Today was my first Linux kernel Programming Class. Today was the briefing session that what is going to be taught, What we have to be prepared in advance for the course.
After the class, I was pretty much happy that at last I'll have hands on kernel programming. As I had tried to go through the Linux kernel code but I struggled a lot to keep with pace to understand such a well structured and heavy modular programming. Even using CTAGS for reading kernel code does not make any difference. But now, I am pretty much confident that One day ( Not To far from now) I'll achieve my
GOAL.
Well, You guys might be wondering, what is my goal. I'll Tell you one short story.
This is the story eight to nines years back. One day I was sitting with my Dad. I heard some news that India is emerging as IT Power in the world. I was very excited as this is my field of my interest and I started using Computer ( I was in Sweden with my Dad) when India had PC only at high level facilities like research centres like that. In India, I bought 486 Model PC.
Ok. Pardon me. Let's Move back to the story I was telling you. That was just my introduction part of my experiences with computers.

I was telling Dad that India is IT power etc. My Dad did'nt
reacted much on this. But after my continuous praise He interrupted me,
he told "If India is IT power, We have Finest & best Computer professionals in the World, Then
Why We don't have our Own Operating System??? Why Don't we have any big product based company? Why we are dependent on Microsoft and tolerating its monopoly? If they raise the price, we have to bear it, if they don't supply anything, we starved with the technology.WHY???"

This "WHY" Really stunned me. It was really very surprising to hear his so intense views on this. He is a great scientist & professor in his field Mining Engineering. All he told that time is proved to be true. Even, One of my Life's idol and great & legend scientist, former president of India
Mr. Abdul kalam jee also pointed out the same concern that India should have its own operating system.
So, From that day, It become my one of the Goal & ambition in my life to Develop one Operating system which will outrun Microsoft OS. And this kernel programming class is a small step towards my Goal.
I am Great fan of Mr. Steve Jobs. He is also my Idol. I like to follow the footsteps of Steve Jobs but like to be "Ankit Singh". I have the passion to change the world.
I always Believe that "
Failure is the First Step Towards Success ". I have the right to say this as I failed many countless times & seen many setbacks in this short span of life but I fight back, as Failure gives you the opportunity to recognize yours potential. Right now, I am enjoying my time with my first job and preparing for the big thing.
Now Off To Bed!
Have a nice Day/Night
